News and information for all schools in 2019

Welcome to our website dedicated to the Teaching Schools Council and its work in Eastern England. Teaching Schools East was established in 2015 and, now, as Teachings Schools East and NE London the organisation brings together over one hundred teaching schools and alliances across East Anglia. It works in conjunction with the national TSC and the office of the Regional Schools Commissioner as well as with multi academy trusts, OFSTED, the regional dioceses and local authorities.

The Teaching Schools East Strategy Group is the key driver behind these developments working with local and sub regional meetings and initiatives and networks which deliver Strategic Support and funding, SLE and LLE training, Key Stage 2 support and encouragement for aspiring heads and support for recently qualified teachers.

Stay in Touch

Teaching Schools East publishes a monthly newsletter circulated to all schools, not just Teaching Schools, in the Eastern region. This includes news, updates on projects, funding opportunities and lots more. To receive your own copy of the newsletter, contact Mark Lambell here. TSAs and their Role

In the past five years, responsibility for school improvement, continuing professional development and initial teacher training has been brought within the remit of the teaching school alliance organisations.

In the East this makes the nurturing and developing of new teaching schools and teaching school alliances a strategic priority. It is also important to build the system leader team (National Leaders of Education, Specialist Leaders and Local Leaders) and to create the capacity which can support these new roles.

TSA recruitment continues so check to see if your school qualifies. Also, make links with your nearest teaching school network to be involved in local CPD and ITT, and also to find out about new funding opportunities.

TSC East System Leader Conferences at RAF Duxford in 2015 with Matt Dawson MBE and at Wellcome Genome Centre in 2016 with Sir David Carter. Then, in 2017 with Dame Alison Peacock and in 2018 with Sir John Jones.
