WELCOME TO TEACHING SCHOOLS EAST & NE LONDON
News and information for all schools in 2019
Welcome to our website dedicated to the Teaching Schools Council and its work in Eastern England. Teaching Schools East was established in 2015 and, now, as Teachings Schools East and NE London the organisation brings together over one hundred teaching schools and alliances across East Anglia. It works in conjunction with the national TSC and the office of the Regional Schools Commissioner as well as with multi academy trusts, OFSTED, the regional dioceses and local authorities.
The Teaching Schools East Strategy Group is the key driver behind these developments working with local and sub regional meetings and initiatives and networks which deliver Strategic Support and funding, SLE and LLE training, Key Stage 2 support and encouragement for aspiring heads and support for recently qualified teachers.

The DFE has finally published the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Strategy and the Early Career Framework. The Strategy claims to set out an offer to the profession to ensure that a career in teaching continues to be attractive, rewarding and sustainable. It aims to tackle issues that discourage recruitment and retention such as teacher workload, the high stakes accountability system, the lack of flexible working opportunities, and the steep learning curve for new teachers. A range of resources are provided which do not provide the answers but may help schools to think about the issues including a one-page guide and an introductory video. The full strategy is available here.
