East of England and North East London Pupil Premium Hubs
Pupil Premium Hubs have been established with the purpose of brokering Pupil Premium reviews and implementing a quality assurance process. Within the East of England and North East London, there are two hubs to the north and south of the region: one based at Norfolk Teaching and Leadership Excellence Centre in Norwich and one led by the Thurrock Teaching School Alliance based at William Edwards School in Grays.
Pupil Premium Reviewer training continues to be offered across the region by the Thurrock Teaching School Alliance, continuing from its previous role as Pupil Premium Champion for the East of England. System Leaders wishing to undertake external reviews are encouraged to attend, and further information can be found at www.pupilpremiumeast.org. The hubs welcome contact from teaching schools or schools wishing to share good and innovative practice.
The TSC’s updated Guide to Pupil Premium Reviews was published earlier this year, having been developed in partnership with TSAs, the DfE and EEF. The guide offers a framework which reviewers and supported schools can use to make the most of a pupil premium review. It sets out a simple, four step process for a review, including self-evaluation by the supported school and the creation of an action plan for the school. The guide should be used as a starting point for schools, in combination with liaison with one of the hubs. You can find a copy here.

School to School Support Directory Closed
The current school-to-school support directory, which contains details of all teaching schools and system leaders has been withdrawn and the DFE is exploring new ways to share teaching schools and system leader data with schools who are looking for support. Although it is anticipated that a new directory or equivalent will be developed, in the short term, the DFE will upload a spreadsheet each month that contains the same basic details as are currently available on the directory.
